About Us
The Christian Help Center (CHC) of Person County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Person County that serves its residents in need with a food pantry, clothes closet, and emergency funds for utilities and medical copays when available.
We want to continue serving those in need in Person County while expanding self-sufficiency programs, referrals, and counseling services as needed. We strive to build relationships between community members, share knowledge, and empower those in poverty.
OUR VISION
"Offering a hand up...
not a hand out."
OUR MISSION
The Christian Help Center (CHC) was established in 1990 to reach out to those who are unemployed, disabled, and elderly. During the past 26 years, the CHC has managed to distribute two million dollars in donations to assist families with rent, utilities, and medical copays.
The CHC is addressing the basic human needs of food, water, shelter, and healthcare for those who are in need. We are partners with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Food Lion FEEDS, Farmer Foodshare, Harvest of Hope, Person County Habitat for Humanity, Person County United Way, and Triangle Wheels4Hope.
Our mission statement reflects the passage of Matthew 25:35-36: For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.
